This week on “Help For Today,” I plan to share with you a couple of tips and pointers on hosting events, fellowships, and really just any kind of activity that you may host. Here at North Valley Baptist Church, I have the privilege of hosting and coordinating all of our Bible college’s events, activities, and intramural sports. I just want to share with you a couple of pointers this week about planning any kind of event, really.
One thing that I always like to do is start with, number one, the purpose. When you are planning an event, activity, or even a school field trip, there are so many decisions you have to make regarding that event. If you can start with defining one, two, or three purposes—obviously, the smaller the event, the smaller the number of purposes you should have—it makes all of those other decisions a lot more simple and easy to make.
So that’s my tip for you today: always start with, first of all, determining the purpose of the event, the fellowship, the activity, or whatever it is you’re planning.
