Good morning. The hope for today is found in the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, verse 1. We were talking about the different first fruits, and one of the first fruits that we covered yesterday, or the last time, was our tithe. Today, it is time. I’m going to try to stick you with those T’s: time.
In verse 1 of chapter 3, Ecclesiastes says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” You know, in the book of Ephesians, it also talks about redeeming the time for the days of evil. So, it’s important that this year, at the beginning of the year, we go into a year with different goals, different mindsets, and hopefully, we can stick to them.
I have to admit, all my goals from last year, I didn’t, to be honest with you, I didn’t necessarily fulfill each one of them. But this year, I’m really trying my best to do that. I hope we’re all doing that and trying to redeem that time that we have here on this earth. You know, we’re going to heaven, but hopefully, maybe during this year, you get to take somebody to heaven with you. It’s important that we’re going to heaven, but let’s take somebody else with us.
The time that we have is so valuable. What are you doing? What am I doing? I need to ask myself the same question. What am I going to do with my time this year? Am I making God my priority? Am I giving Him time?
The other thing is, are you giving time to take some time out of the day to pray, or to read, spend time with Him, to go to church on Sundays, or Sunday morning, Sunday school, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, soul winning, whatever other activities there are with the church family? Make some time. Make some time with your family. Spend some time with your family. Go to the park. Throw the ball with your kids. Play with your kids. Do something with them.
I have the opportunity to do that. And as my kids, I see them growing, I realize that time is flying. Time is just going faster and faster, it seems. But can I encourage you today to make time for God, make time for your family, for your church family, and to always strive to do our best to make time.
