I’m afraid of some things. One of those things is electricity. I don’t want to work with electricity. I don’t want to touch it. But I really value it.

Fear is either a concern for harm or it could mean, second, a reverence. Today, the verse of the day is: “That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou and thy son and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life.”

God wants us to fear him. No, he doesn’t want us to be afraid of him, but he wants us to reverence him. To have a respect for him that will change our attitude. It will give us a humble spirit, and it will cause us to live righteously when we realize that a holy God is watching over everything we do.

Fear God today.
