Good morning. This week in Help for Today, I’m excited to talk to you about school. You say, “Brother Reimers, I’m not a part of a school. I’m an adult; I’ve already graduated.” Well, what school do you attend every week?

I don’t attend my elementary school anymore; I’m done with elementary. I don’t attend my high school anymore; I graduated years ago. I graduated from Golden State Baptist College. I love Golden State, but I don’t go to school there anymore either. But there is a school that every Christian should be a part of on a weekly basis, and today I want to come to you about the Sunday school, and this week we’ll talk about it.

The Bible says, in 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever, Amen.” Every Christian is to grow in grace. Growth is a gradual process; it doesn’t happen overnight. And so every week, the Christian should be part of the Sunday school because it helps them grow in grace. It’s a place where the Bible is taught.

I’m thankful for teachers that study and prepare. I’m thankful that the Sunday school is a place where people can fulfill their spiritual gifts. Teachers that have been gifted with the gift of teaching can fulfill and utilize that gift. And then Christians can grow in grace and fellowship with other believers and get prepared for service in the local church.

This week, we’re going to talk about the school every Christian should be a part of: the Sunday school.
