We’re in the book of 2 Samuel this week, and I want to welcome you to a new week. In 2 Samuel 12, David has committed sin with Bathsheba. What a tragedy. And yet, here’s what David says in chapter 12, verse 13, “I have sinned.” Psalm 51 would be a compatible text to read, “Against thee, and thee only have I sinned and done this iniquity in my heart. My sin is ever before me.” I got thinking about my sin. Did you know that everybody in the Bible was not only a sinner, but when most of their sins are recorded? And I got thinking there’s only one person who’s ever touched planet earth, and it’s Jesus who did no sin. And so the rest of us, the remainder, you and me, we must come every day and confess our sin to God.

“Lord, I’ve sinned against you,” and if we’ve hurt someone or harmed somebody, we ought to confess it to them. What? That our hearts might be right with God. Today, my help for today that I want to leave with is, “I have sinned.” If there’s some iniquity in your heart, it separates fellowship from God and from one another. Let’s get it confessed today and restore that relationship. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
