A very powerful verse I want to give to you on this Thanksgiving month, and it’s Daniel chapter 6, verse number 10. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house, and as windows being in his chamber opened toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God.

Here’s a man deep in trouble. He is breaking the law because the law says you cannot pray to God. But he said, “I’m just going to do what I’ve always done. Three times a day, open my windows, pray toward Jerusalem. That’s what I’m going to do again today, and I’m going to give thanks to God.”

Well, it’s easy to give thanks to God when the sun is shining and everybody’s healthy and things are doing well and you’ve got money in the bank. It’s easy to thank God then, but Daniel wasn’t in that place. He was under great, great pressure, not knowing that his life would be taken perhaps because of obeying God instead of man.

Today, whatever your oppression, whatever the difficulty, whatever the sorrow, whatever the setback, I want to be one that can praise God in the sunshine hour and in the darkest night till the storm passes over. By His grace, I’m going to give thanks to Almighty God.
