Take a song with you on the journey of life today. The song of the day is from our hymn book, “Songs and Hymns from the Heart,” and it’s in most hymn books. “God Will Take Care of You.” Be not dismayed, whatever be tide. God will take care of you. God’s gonna take care of you today, friend. The song was written in 1904. A man and his wife, a preacher, and his wife were living in a dormitory, not at Moody Bible Institute, but in Chicago in a Bible college, the men’s dorm, actually, and it was Saturday. He was leaving to travel to a meeting to preach on Sunday, and he and his wife were just joined at the hip. He did not want to leave. But she said, “You know what, honey? I want you, God’s gonna take care of you.”
He took that with him, and while he was gone, he wrote this song, page 419. Be not dismayed, whatever be tide. God will take care of you. Beneath his wings of love abide. God will take care of you through every day, or all the way. God’s gonna take care of you today, friend. Though days of toil, when your heart doth fail, God will take care of you. When danger, fierce, or passeth sail, God will take care of you. All that you need, he will provide.
God’s gonna take care of you. Nothing you ask will be denied. If it’s for his honor, for his good, and for your good, he’ll take care of it. He’ll give us our needs. And then no matter what may be the test, God will take care of you. What’s your test today? I don’t know, but you can take it to the bank. God’s gonna take care of you. Be not dismayed. Have a great day, friend.
