“Happy Thanksgiving to all of us! The Lord wants us to carry Thanksgiving in our day-to-day living. ‘Thanksgiving’ gives meaning to Thanksgiving. In other words, genuine Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving.”
“I’m reminded of Colossians chapter 3, verse number 15,” the assistant continued. “The Bible says, ‘Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body, and be ye thankful.'”
“Perhaps Thanksgiving is a day that comes once a year to show us how every day of the year could be lived. And maybe it’s the one-time-a-year event that we could say, ‘This is the way that Christian life ought to be lived every day.’ And this is the gratitude we ought to have all the time. And this is the spirit of thankfulness that we ought to practice all year long. And this is the attitude we ought to have every day, for it’s still possible today that we can relive the spirit of Thanksgiving all year long, every day.”
“I’m reminded also of what the Bible says in the book of Psalms, chapter number 34, verse number 1,” the assistant added. “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. That word ‘continually’ means regularly or frequently. Psalm 103, verse number 2, ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of His benefits.’ James chapter 1, verse number 17, ‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.'”
“Gratitude, ladies and gentlemen, unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. Let’s make Thanksgiving Thanks-Living.”
