“Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good…” (Psalm 135:3)

Once more we discover in God’s Word the statement, “The Lord is good Once more it reminds us of what a wonderful God we serve. In this verse, we sense a note of exaltation. We will praise our God, for He is good! This, then, is the “Enraptured Song of His Goodness.”

As children of the Heavenly Father, we should be able to sing because of His goodness. We should show the world a Daily song. Though we experience heartaches and trials, our God “giveth songs in the night” (Job 35:10). This world needs to see believers who have a song regardless of the circumstances which may surround them.

Furthermore, our song should be a Deepening Song. The psalmist, speaking to the Lord, made this statement, “I will yet praise thee more and more” (Psalm 71:14). As we grow in the Lord and experience His goodness in our lives, our song should deepen with understanding and love for our good God.

Finally, our song should be a Distinguishing Song. It should identify us as children of the Heavenly Father. David said in Psalm 33:1, “Praise is comely for the upright.” What about it? Do we have a song of praise for the goodness of God?
