“Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did He in heaven and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places,” He causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He maketh lightnings for the rain. He bringeth the wind out of His treasuries.”

Verses 8 through 11 through 12, the psalmist goes on to tell all of the great things that God had done for the children of Israel, delivering them from Egyptian bondage, smiting down kings and taking down nations to raise up His people.

I’m thankful that God has done so much for the nation of Israel, but I’m even more thankful today of all the things that God has done for me. He might have brought Israel out of their bondage, but I’m thankful that He took me from under sin’s bondage. He might have slain kings and brought down nations, but I’m looking forward to the one day when He vanquishes His final foe once and for all.

We can shout today through the book of Psalms because God… has done and will continue to do great things for us.
