Welcome to Help for Today. And as we end 2024 yesterday, we encourage you to look back and consider what God has done in the year 2024 in your life. And today, as we continue this series and this thought, I want to bring your attention to Psalm chapter number 90, verse 12. The Bible says, “So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” If you look in James, the Bible talks about how our life is a vapor. It appears for a short season and then vanishes away.

Today, as we finish the year, I want to encourage you to look ahead. Yesterday was look behind. Today, look ahead. What do you want to accomplish in the new year? Our pastor often says, “Don’t allow the new year to come to you. You go to the new year.” So the question today is, as you look ahead, what are you aiming for in 2025? What are your goals? What is the mark you’re shooting for? What’s the vision you have for your life?

You can think of so many areas, but what is your goal spiritually in 2025? Do you have a plan in place for what you’re going to do with the Word of God? Do you have personal goals for prayer and how you want to see your prayer life increase? How about your ministry? Where are you plugged in in the work of God? And how can you increase your service in these days? Maybe in your home, in your family. What’s your devotion time like as a family? Maybe your family meals. There are so many things – a family vacation. You want to have vision for 2025, and so don’t allow the year to come to you. Go to the year and look ahead today. What is the goal? What’s the aim that you’re shooting for? And let’s make 2025 a great year of progress spiritually.
