Good morning, it’s a very exciting week this week as we look forward to New Year’s. And as we prepare for that great event, I wanna come to you this week on several thoughts to end 2024 strong and begin 2025 with a great, great start. Let’s look at Psalm 77 today.
The Bible says in verse nine, “Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercy, Selah?” And I said, “this is my infirmity, but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. I will remember the works of the Lord. Surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work and talk of thy doings.” Several times in this passage of verses, the psalmist uses the word “remember.” And that word is to recall; it’s to bring back to your memory.
Today as we end 2024, I want to encourage you to look back. I want to encourage you to think about what God has accomplished this year in your life. Think about spiritually how you’ve grown. Think about decisions you have made. Think about how the Word of God has spoken to your heart. Think about messages you’ve heard. Think about victories you’ve had in your home and in your family. Think about what God has accomplished.
As we remember and think back and call to our mind what God has done, it’ll be amazing to really see what has transpired in just one year’s time. As the songwriter said, “count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”
Today, I want to encourage you to look back. Think about what God has done in the year 2024.
