Yesterday, I brought to our attention the word “grace.” Today, it’s the word “mercy”. 269 times in the Bible, and the Bible says in the book of Ephesians, in chapter 2, “About God who is rich in mercy”. Mercy is pity where he is concerned with us. Mercy, there was great, and Grace was free. Pardon, there was multiplied to me.

You know, the what I deserve, I think in my life, I deserve. Paul said he’s the chief of sinners. Well, I believe the Bible’s inspired, but Paul, I have a contention with you. If you’re the chief of sinners, I’m the cheapest, cheapest, cheapest of sinners.

I tell you what I deserve, nothing, but judgment on my life. That’s not false humility. I know who I am. God, who is rich in mercy, I’m so thankful that one day he reached down his loving hand to a young boy, a five-year-old boy who already was a sinner, born in sin. Already lied to his mother, already self-willed. God extended mercy to me today.

Let’s be merciful to people today. I love that song, “Merciful to Me,” when I deserve such to die. Be merciful to people, have pity on people today, show kindness to people day. And what yesterday, grace and mercy, how they go together? Well, I have a wonderful, wonderful day. Let’s extend mercy to all those around us.
