I have my song book with me today. I live with the song book at my office at the house, and here I sing a lot. And I’m not a good singer, but I sing unto the Lord. I get a song in my heart for the day. My song of today is the song for this year in my life. Every year, I choose a song. Sometimes it’s not right at the beginning of the year. Sometimes I find it at the end of the year.
Years ago, it was “Pass Me Not, Gentle Savior”. And toward the end, I said, “I just sang that all year long”. This one is so special to me. It’s page 28 in our psalm book today because it was written a hundred years ago. And a hundred years ago, my dad was born. And so when I sing this, we sang it a week ago Sunday or so in church. “Great is thy faithfulness. Oh God, my father, there is no shadow of turning with thee.” It’s, of course, taken from the book of Lamentations. “Thou changest not, thy compassions they fail not. As thou hast been, thou forever will be.” The last stanza, “pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide. Strength for today.
You know what? That’s what you need today. Strength for today. That’s what I need today. And bright hope for tomorrow. Blessings all ours with 10,000 beside. Great is thy faithfulness.” Have a great day. Thank you.
