This week, I’ve been looking at the Song of the Day. The Song of the Day from our hymnbook is page number 416. It was written in 1901, so it’s been written years ago. The man was going through some great physical pain, and when you go through physical pain, if you’re not careful, you go through emotional distress. And that’s where he was, as a preacher, physically in pain, emotionally, and spiritually drained. And he sat down and wrote:

“Does Jesus care when my heart is pained too deeply for mirth and song, as the burdens press and the cares distress, and the way grows weary and long?” “Oh yes, he cares, I know he cares, his heart is touched with my grief; when the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”

“What does He care when the path is dark? Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed to resist some temptation strong? When for my deep grief I find no relief, though my tears flow all the night long?”

“This is some of you today. Does Jesus care when I’ve said goodbye to the dearest on earth to me, and my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks – is it aught to Him? Does He see?”

“Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; when the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”

Have a wonderful day, friends.
