This week, we begin the book of Leviticus. And every day, I’m going to give you a verse that is a real blessing in my personal life. And today, it’s Leviticus 2:3, and they’re talking about the priest, and he has to be holy unto the Lord.
For many, many years, I disappointed. I have to tell you this: I didn’t understand Leviticus. It was not really enjoyable to me. But God conquered my heart. It is a wonderful book. If you’re reading through it right now, I hope you’ll take time to look at it. I’ve underlined throughout the entire book of Leviticus 87 times the word “holy”. God wants a holy people. The word “holy” means to be pure, to be clean, to be cleansed. And isn’t it amazing when you begin the book of Leviticus, pastors, He deals with us first, the priest? He said, “You need to be holy. You need to look holy, dress holy, act holy, be holy.” And leadership, mother, dad, deacons, staff members, Sunday school teachers, bus workers. Let’s seek to be holy, Christians, on this day, holiness under the Lord. “Be holy, for I am holy.”
