“Praise ye the Lord,” praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.” That’s Psalm 113, verse one and two.
This week on Help for Today, we’re gonna be shouting through the Psalms, taking a look at all of the great features and great things about God that the psalmists write. And in Psalm 113, we see a powerful truth that God sees us. In verse one through five, the psalmist writes and paints a beautiful picture about how great and glorious God is.
He says, “From the rising of the sun under the going down of the same, the Lord’s name is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the Lord our God and who dwelleth on high?”
But in verse six is the turning point. He says, “Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth.” We have a wonderful, mighty, glorious God. But in verse 6, I love the fact that the psalmist says he gazes his attention and he looks down upon us here at earth. What a reason to rejoice today, because God sees us.
