Acts 5:42 says, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

The early church and the earliest Christians made it their priority to preach and teach about Jesus Christ every single day. They did not regulate Jesus to simply Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, but rather every day of the week they shared the good news of the gospel.

We find that word “daily” mentioned throughout the book of Acts. The Bible talks about how the Lord added daily to the church such as should be saved. The Bible talks about how they met daily in the temple, and here the Bible talks about how they taught and preached about Jesus daily from house to house.

There’s just something about sharing Jesus with sinners that keeps the heart of the child of God stirred. Soul winning is not something that the church is obligated to do once a month, once a quarter, or when it fits in the schedule; but rather, soul winning ought to be an everyday practice of a born-again person.

I hear it often as I speak with preachers from across our country and as I travel to churches across our nation that it just doesn’t seem to be working like it used to. The numbers are down, and the pews are empty. The altars are barren, the baptistery is rarely stirred, and the cry of the hour is, “It just doesn’t seem to work like it used to.”

I don’t believe that’s the case at all. I believe that soul winning still works like it always did, but we have very few Christians willing to work at soul winning. My heart is stirred to think of what God would do if we could get a church that would obligate itself to share Jesus every day. I’m talking about a church that would mirror the earliest church, a church that would model itself after those earliest Christians. What could God do if we had a church that would be busy sharing Jesus every single day?

I want to challenge our readers to share Jesus with someone else every single day. Could you find time to hand out one tract every day? Would you be willing to speak with one soul every single day?

Our church has begun bundling tracts in sets of seven. Our people are taking those seven and striving to share Jesus every day with at least one person. Couldn’t you do the same?

When was the last time you witnessed to someone? When was the last time you won a soul to Christ? Do you have family members who are unsaved? Do your neighbors know the Lord?

My prayer is that God will burden our hearts to do the thing nearest to His own heart! Souls are dying by the second and drifting off into eternity. It’s either heaven or hell! Time is short. The stakes are high. The Great Commission is still our commission.

“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Would you commit to sharing Jesus every day?
