This week on “Help For Today,” we’re talking about the cell phone and trying to help us not to destroy our lives with our cell phones.

One way that I think all of us have the tendency to destroy our lives is with wasting time on apps. You see, the smartest people in all the world get hired by these social media companies, and their job is to keep you on their app, seeing as many ads as possible for as long as possible.

What I would encourage you is to set up a timer on your app so that after 15 minutes, 30 minutes, whatever, whatever that app that sort of takes your time, it will set off that timer and you’ll have to stop, or you could give yourself more time.

Do you realize that average teenagers spend seven hours and 22 minutes on their devices, not including school time? Let’s not have that be said of our children and of us.
