On this Help4Today, I want to read to you a verse that God gave me this morning. It’s from 2 Chronicles chapter 16 and verse 9. The Bible says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart, and here it is, is perfect toward God.”
And so, as we look at the landscape of America and we think about the problems around the world, the heart of the problem is a problem of the heart. And the reality is, if we’re not careful as Christians, we think, “Well, it’s the politician’s fault. It’s the lost world’s fault.” And yet, if my people, we know the Bible says that in 2 Chronicles 7.14, which are called by my name, it’s about us having a right heart with God. And so, I want to challenge you today to search your heart. Let God search your heart. We know that our hearts are deceitful, Jeremiah tells us. And we ought to be asking God daily to search our heart.
I think if we’re not careful, we expect and pray and ask the Lord to change the king’s heart. You know, we look to the President and various leaders. But I believe God wants you and I to ask Him to change our heart, to make sure our heart is right with God. I like that song the Five Guys sing, “How About Your Heart? Is It Right With God?” And the promise that God gives us from His Word today is that He will show Himself strong. And I believe that God wants to show Himself strong in 2024 in your world. And when we think about the problems in the world today, I think that God wants to show Himself mightily to the whole earth.
And so I want to challenge you today to check your heart. And the best way to do that is be in God’s Word every day. The prescription to the problem of the heart, because it’s sinful, is the Word of God. And when we’re in the Word of God every day, the Spirit of God speaks to our heart and conforms us to the image of Christ. And so this morning, I just want to challenge you with the Word for the day, and that is the heart. We ought to be seeking God from our heart. We ought to be serving God from our heart, loving Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength today. And so I want to challenge you with those thoughts this morning.
