This morning, I’d like to bring you one verse, one verse from the book of Mark, chapter 15 and verse 38. And I’m really excited about this verse. This is one of my favorite passages in all the Bible. The Bible says in verse 38, “And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.”

Back then, in those days in the temple, there was this veil, and it separated the holiest of holies from the holy place. You see, back in those days, the children of Israel weren’t allowed to go into the holiest of holies. There was only one time during the year when the high priest was able to go into the holiest of holies. And you might say, “What is this place?” Well, we all know that when God would come down and His presence would dwell with Israel, He would dwell on top of that ark in the holiest of holies. And that’s where God would be. But man couldn’t get in there. Only that high priest could go one time a year.

And I’m thankful that when Jesus Christ came and He lived on this earth, not only did He die upon the cross, not only did He take away all of our sins, not only did He give us a home in heaven, but He also, that veil when He died, was rent in two. And because of that, you and I now have access into the holiest of holies. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, you and I can go and dwell in the presence of God. No more do we have to go through a man, we don’t have to go through any other intercessor, but you and I boldly can go unto the throne of grace because that veil is rent in two.
