A quick thought for the day: we come to chapter 27 of the book of 1st Samuel. Now if you’ll back up in your mind to chapter 17, that’s in chapter 17 where David killed Goliath, the Philistine. But you get over just to chapter 27 and look what he says about the same people. David now said in his heart, “I shall one day perish by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me that I should speedily escape to the land of the Philistines.” And for a year and a half he went and he rose and joined them.
“What’s the Bible say about discouragement? And that’s my thought today, and I’ll just be very brief. He said in his heart, it always begins in the mind, your heart is one-third part of your brain, and he began to think wrong. He said a man thinketh in his heart. That’s why we’re to think on things that are lovely and good and true report. He thought and then he said what you say out of the abundance of the mouth. The heart speaketh. You think wrong here, you’ll speak wrong.”
“And then his action, he did wrong. He arose and went and joined the Philistines. Let’s take inventory today. Watch what you think, and what you’re thinking is going to be revealed in what you say, and in what we do. Have a great day. God bless each of you.”
