On this help for today, I want to give you four words. Those four words are simply this, “with all my heart.” When I consider the heart, God cares about our heart. And we’re commanded to love the Lord with all of our heart. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, the key to the Christian life, and not just the key to the Christian life, but the master key to the Christian life, is to love the Lord with all of our heart. And so I want to encourage you today. Let’s take time to love the Lord. Let’s tell Him that we love Him. And not only do we want to tell Him that we love Him, let’s show Him that we love Him.
So how do we show Him that we love Him? By trusting Him with all of our heart. Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, we quote it. It’s my sister’s life verse. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding.” We get in trouble when we start trying to lean to our own understanding. In all our ways, acknowledge Him. The Bible says He will direct our path. So let’s love Him with all of our heart. Let’s trust Him with all of our heart. Let’s trust Him today with all of our heart.
No matter what obstacles you’re facing, let’s trust the Lord. And lastly today, let’s serve Him with all of our heart. I love Ephesians 6, 6, it’s such a beautiful passage of scripture. It says, “not with eye service as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.” It ought not to be that we serve God to be seen of men. A little bit of contrast here because Matthew chapter five says, “let your light so shine before men.” We don’t do what we do to be seen of men. If I think somebody’s trying to do something to be seen of men, or trying to get me to do something to be seen of men, boy, I wanna back away from that, because I wanna do what I do for the Lord.
I wanna serve the Lord from my heart, not with eye service as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart. So let’s back away from our heart. So here it is “with all thine heart.” Let’s love Him with all our heart, with all of our heart, let’s trust Him with all of our heart, and let’s serve Him today with all of our heart.
