Let me ask you, what kind of church member are you? Over here in First John, in chapter number one, well there’s only those verses, there’s not a chapter. But nonetheless, first number nine, “Diotrephes loveth to have the preeminence. Hey, hey, hey, look at me. Oh, look at me, I’ve got all these problems. Why doesn’t anybody care?” Diotrephes was a high-maintenance church member. And I know that people have needs, and you share them with others and pray and all that. But don’t make it that life is always about you. Diotrephes had he had to love to have the preeminence.
Maybe you’re, like me, “Oh, do I have this great solo voice?” Well, no I don’t. But I don’t really wonder why they don’t put me on the music schedule because that’s not my strength. Listen, friend, if you have a great music voice, it will be discovered. And if you think you have a great music voice and it’s not discovered, there’s a reason for that. I want you to have a good day. Let’s not be high-maintenance, let’s not be the Diotrephes in your New Testament local church this day.
