There’s no one in history that has been given more names or more titles than our Lord Jesus Christ. His name describes exactly who He is. Billy Sunday said, “There are 256 names given in the Bible for our Lord Jesus Christ.” I suppose he said this was because He was infinitely beyond all that anyone could express. We have heard about His name, and read about His name, and heard men preach about His name. But no man in mortal history can closely equal to His name, for His name stands alone.
Praise God for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. His name is most excellent. His name is most unsurpassed. And His name is the supreme name. It’s a chosen name. It’s a favored name. It’s a number one name, the Bible says, “far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come.” Our Lord had no servants, isn’t that amazing? Yet they called him master. Oh, he had no degree, yet they called him teacher. Oh, he had no medicines, yet they called him healer. Oh, he had no army, yet kings feared him. He won no military battles, but I tell you what, he conquered the world. He was buried in a tomb, yet he lives today because he lives I can face tomorrow, because he lives all fear is gone, because I know, I know he holds the future, and life is worth the living just because he lives.
Oh, praise God for that wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ, let’s live for him today.
