In the book of Ruth today, I want to bring to your attention the word “respect.” The Bible says, “She fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground and said unto him, ‘Why have I found grace in thy sight?'” Here was Ruth, speaking to that man who was going to be the one that became her mate, and she said, “I found grace in your sight.” She showed great respect. He was wealthy, he was invested in helping others.
May we live in respect. All political parties weary me these days. They speak so unkindly toward one another—the Democrats, the Republicans; the Republicans to the Democrats. There’s so much unkindness in this world. Let’s show respect to one another.
Let’s love people. Let’s rescue the perishing; let’s care for the dying. Let’s have respect in the home, the marriage, at the church. God bless you. Have a great day.
