As we go through difficulties, sometimes it’s easy to look at our problems and forget to look to God.  If all we see are the negatives, we will forget just how good we really have it.  As Christians, there really is no reason why we cannot live on the winning side all the time.  We can have joy even in the midst of sorrow.  We can have strength when we are weak, and we can have victory even when it seems that all is lost.  Psalm 105 tells us how.

“O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.  Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.” (Psalm 105:1-6).

In the midst of the storm,

Give thanks to God.

In the midst of the storm,

Talk to God.

In the midst of the storm,

Talk about God to others.

In the midst of the storm,

Sing to Him and about Him.

In the midst of the storm,

Glory in His Name (brag on God).

In the midst of the storm,

Seek Him—the help we need is found in Him.

In the midst of the storm,

Remember His goodness to us in the past—if He was good before, He is still good today

In the midst of the storm,

Remember His Word— in times of uncertainty, God’s Word is always faithful and true

If you read the rest of Psalm 105, you will find that the author goes down the list of all that God has done for His people.  It was all about Him.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

By Helen Howarth Lemmel

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there.
Over us sin no more hath dominion,
For more than conquerors we are.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

His word shall not fail you, He promised.
Believe Him and all will be well.
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
