This week on “Help for Today,” we’ve been going through a mission statement that really has been a help to me in my life. It’s really helped to guide me and set a principle for my life. And that is: do everything to the best of my ability and to the glory of God. We looked at the first part, “do everything.” The second part is this: do everything to the best of your ability.
The Bible says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.” You may not be as talented as the next guy, I may not be able to do something as well as another person, but I can always do things to the best of my ability. May I encourage you today on this “Help for Today”? Whatever God has for you, whatever the task you have, whether it be big or small, do it to the best of your ability. Maybe you only have an hour to work on it, and you would love to spend a month on it to really get it good, but maybe you have an hour. Well, do it to the best of your ability.
Whatever your talent, whatever the time you have, may I encourage you today, whatever you’re doing for God, do it to the best of your ability and to the glory of God.
