And a wonderful day to you, dear friend. Thank you for joining us today. My name is Pastor David Sloan. I’m the Spanish pastor at North Valley Baptist Church and also the missions director at Golden State Baptist College. What a joy to be with you in this manner today.
Well, we are in the book of James. We’re going to be in the book of James for a few days during our time with you. I want to thank you for joining us.
The book of James, to me, is one of my favorite, most fascinating books because it’s a very practical book. Here we have James, the half-brother of Jesus, and he’s writing to the persecuted church, that church that, as he says there in the first couple of verses, that church that is scattered abroad. Now, they’re scattered abroad because of persecution that comes in, we know, in those first chapters of the book of Acts. Then they’re persecuted in chapter 8, dispersed, and they go out. So he’s writing to those dear church members that are his people. These are his church members. We see him in chapter 15 as a part of that council with Paul and Barnabas, Peter, John, and then this James, the half-brother of Jesus. He’s going to give us here in the book of James some practical steps for the Christian life.
I hope that this week you’re able to join me every day just for a minute or two as we look in depth at the book of James, which is literally just a book about the believer and his behavior. God bless you. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.
