We’re studying the topic of how to help the man of God, and today we look at 1 Thessalonians 5.25 where Paul comes to these Christians with a simple but very powerful request. He says in 1 Thessalonians 5.25, “Brethren, pray for us.” And I want to encourage us as Christians today to uphold the man of God in prayer.
Charles Spurgeon was walking people through his church and giving them a tour. He wanted to show these people the heating plant, as he called it, of the church. He took them to a room, and in that room, there were 400 people praying for the church and for the pastor. How encouraging it is to the man of God if we, the Christian, pray for them. Pray for their needs, spiritual needs. Pray for their financial needs. Pray for their health. Pray for wisdom. Pray for vision. Pray for direction, and the list could go on and on.
But today, I’m coming to you asking you and me, will we be faithful to pray for the man of God that will help him? I promise you that.
