One of the most precious of human emotion is the emotion of hope. The word hope means “a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen,”; and it is mentioned in God’s Word over 140 times. The song says:

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”

God’s Word reminds us:

  • And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope. (Job 11:18a)
  • Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. (Psalms 31:24)
  • For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. (Psalms 38:15)

Many of us are feeling as if we are living in the most hopeless days of our lifetime, yet through Scripture and song, we are reminded of our hope in Christ. In I Thessalonians 4:13, we see that those who do not know Christ have no hope.

“There is hope, so be strong, there is hope…and He knows just what you’re going through and what the future holds.”

Our God knows the future, and we can have hope in Him that He will fulfill all He has promised to those that follow Him.
